Refreshments for the Sept 23  General MLS Meeting were provided by Reverse Mortgage Specialist Sandra Castrogiovanni , who reminds us all that seniors can now buy a home with a reverse mortgage. They need no income, and can have poor credit scores. See if that program is a good fit for your clients by calling her at (530) 244-4447

Donna McFarlane reminds all that Phone Cards for the Troops drive is going strong, but needs your help. Let's fill this tree up! Our troops deserve your support.

As Fall hits, we are reminded of our other upcoming traditional events. Those events include The Senior Gift drive to fill bags for Christmas. Your donation of lotion, socks, scarves and wrapped candy for seniors is greatly appreciated. Any new toiletries really.

Also on tap is the Christmas Decoration Judging scheduled for Dec 7&8. Then there is the Children’s Christmas Party at the Elks Lodge scheduled for the 9th at 8:30 am. Last but not least is the Installation Dinner Dance, set for Dec 18th at the Gaia, starting at 6 pm.

Our featured guest is State Assemblyman Doug LaMalfa. He has spent 6 years in Sacramento representing your interests in the State Assembly. Now termed out, he is running for The State Senate seat vacated by Sam Aanestad.  He offers a conservative perspective that reflects his roots as a rice farmer from Richvale. He spoke about a wide range of topics facing our local business community, and the Northstate in general. We have arranged to have his talk available to you as Podcast # 15 over at the Podcast Page. The talk runs about 45 minutes.

We are grateful that the MLS Mebership meetings offer a chance to meet government officials and candidates in a setting that encourages frank exchange. It was another great meeting. Skip Murphy
