Our featured guest was Rick Keene, candidate for the 4^th District State Senate seat being vacated by Sam Aanestad. Our 4^th Senate district includes Butte, Colusa, Del Norte, Glenn, Nevada, Placer, Shasta, Siskiyou, Sutter, Tehama, Trinity and Yuba counties, so is a big slice of Northern California. Rick grew up in Trinity County, and has most recently served a 6 year term in the State Assembly in beginning in 2002, representing the Assembly 3rd District. Prior to being elected to the Assembly, he served as a councilman and mayor of the City of Chico.

Rick is a conservative Republican. He spoke to the membership about his values, and his accomplishments in public service. He also outlined his goals for the office, should he be elected.
