MLS Participation

Thank you for your interest in becoming a MLS Participant of the Shasta Association of REALTORS® ("Association"). The Association and Multiple Listing Service ("MLS") are operated as one organization, and is governed by the Board of Directors of the Association.  The MLS is a means by which authorized MLS Broker Participants establish legal relationships with other Participants by making a blanket unilateral contractual offer of compensation and cooperation to other Broker Participants.  Broker Participants must meet ALL of the following requirements:

  • The individual or corporation for which the individual acts as a broker/officer, holds a valid California real estate broker’s license;

  • The individual is a principal, partner, corporate officer, or branch office manager acting on behalf of a principal;

  • The individual has signed a written agreement to abide by the rules and regulations of the service in force at that time and is from time to time amended;

  • The individual pays all applicable MLS Fees;

  • The individual provides full and current contact information, including a valid email address and reports any changes or modifications in a timely manner;

  • The individual agrees to accept all communications by electronic means from the Association;

  • The individual has completed the required Orientation Program of no more than eight (8) classroom hours within 90 days after access has been provided; and

  • The individual actively endeavors during the operation of business, to list real property of the type listed on the MLS and/or to accept offers of cooperation and compensation made by listing brokers or agents in the MLS.

Steps for joining . . .

  1. Print Membership Application;

  2. Complete ALL detailed information of the application, sign, and obtain signature of Designated REALTOR®;

  3. Obtain a copy of California Department of Real Estate (“CalDRE”) License at www.dre.ca.gov;

  4. Obtain a Letter of Good Standing, including confirmation of completed member orientation (if applicable); and

  5. Return the fully executed Membership Application along with a copy of your driver’s license, to the Association office via email at team.shastamls@gmail.com or U.S. Mail at P.O. Box 494388, Redding, CA 96049-4388.

Upon our receipt of the completed application, we will contact you to confirm the amount of fees and dues. Additionally, we will provide you with a membership benefit package, including Association Bylaws, Multiple Listing Service Rules and Regulations, and access to the FlexMLS and SentriLock systems.
